Super Late August Wrap Up
I have a very short attention spam, as well as terrible memory, so the whole August Wrap Up thing completely slipped my mind, and here I am nearing October and just finally posting a quick Wrap Up of stuff I read nearly two months ago. (?)
And anyway if that wasn't bad enough, here I am revamping my blog with this old blogger, but a new name and look. I am still tweaking things up, but let's see if I can reach some sort of assembly that I like. I just want a safe place to talk about books.
So let's talk about them!

Emma by Jane Austen
My new favorite Austen, I think. Such a hard decision to make. But I have gushed all over this book and shipped absolutely everyone.
Emma Woodhouse decides that she is the best matchmaker in the world. Spoilers: She isn't. Also secret romances, hypochondriac characters, and a quiet love story.
At this point you have either read some Sarah J Maas or you never will. But in case you have somehow missed the hype that has been going on for the past 5 years or so over her books: This is series is about mostly evil fairies in a world that is like fairy tales but not. The first book is Beauty and the Beast like. Except the Beast turns out to be an abuser, and in this second book, our girl Feyra, turns out to be more Persephone than Belle, and in a Hades and Persephone retelling, she falls in love with the god of the underworld High Lord of the Night Court. This book was significantly better than the first one (which at the time, I totally loved) and even though it could be considered problematic, I still enjoyed reading it. So there.
This was an ok short story. I don't know why I insist on reading them, because they are really not my thing. However, there are some I am interested in so...
This felt like most short stories feel to me: weird and rushed. But still, it was pretty good.
I was supposed to read this entire manga. I binge watched the anime instead. The manga format isn't really my thing, I guess, but I really did enjoy reading this one and the story is super unique and interesting.
Re-read.
Wait for the blog post or read my full review here on goodreads.
This was a cute romantic story with a lesbian couple, with an interesting supernatural concept - a girl can see the date that everyone she meets will die, and that pushes her away from people. It did spark a few interesting thoughts on life and death and how to handle relationships. Other than that, nothing too special about the writing or the characters and the plot was, somehow predictable, even thought there was technically a twist at the end.
Again I should link you to my goodreads review. Another book that I loved this month.
Weird, but quick and enjoyable.
Full review here.
That's a wrap for my August books! What have you been reading?
Also, look forward for more posts on this blog, including book reviews, the September wrap up in time (possibly) and my October TBR (which is insane). I am also thinking up some discussion post and I am open to ideas. Talk to me!
