Super Late August Wrap Up

Image
I have a very short attention spam, as well as terrible memory, so the whole August Wrap Up thing completely slipped my mind, and here I am nearing October and just finally posting a quick Wrap Up of stuff I read nearly two months ago. (?) And anyway if that wasn't bad enough, here I am revamping my blog with this old blogger, but a new name and look. I am still tweaking things up, but let's see if I can reach some sort of assembly that I like. I just want a safe place to talk about books. So let's talk about them! Emma by Jane Austen My new favorite Austen, I think.   Such a hard decision to make.  But I have gushed all over this book and shipped absolutely everyone.  Emma Woodhouse decides that she is the best matchmaker in the world.  Spoilers: She isn't.  Also secret romances, h ypochondriac  characters, and a quiet love story. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas At this poin...

NaNoWriMo 2016 Part#2

Here we are again to answer more questions about my novel! In case you missed it here is the  link to the post  where I introduce the novel to you. Just to recap: My novel is called The Salem Witches (so far) and it is basically about teenage witches, love and friendship. It is mostly an all girl cast as well. Come check out my answers, I even offer my writing apps and resources tips and advice no one asked for (well, the meme asked - so there). I’m linking up with  Beautiful Books ! Overall, how is your mental state, and how is your novel going? I have written 25k! So I guess my novel is right on the schedule. A lot of it feels like pure garbage and there is way too many indulgence romance scenes (though they are on the subtle side of romance). As for my mental state. Well, let’s just say I am over caffeinated as we speak and I have written 5k (my personal record) today and plan on writing 10k tomorrow.  What’s your first sentence (or pa...

NaNoWriMo 2016

Image
repost from my other blog  Bruna Writes This crazy lemon muffin here has decided to join NaNoWriMo on a complete whim. Basically I was going to write this story anyway, but I wasn’t going to join anything or attempt 50k words (because that is just insanity). And then midnight of November first hit, and I was technically on call at work, but I wrote 2000 words, so I figured what the heck, maybe I  can  write 50 thousand words (such a logical assumption!) To celebrate this moment of impending doom (is not like I have tests, or presentations or books to read this month or anything), I am joining up with the Beautiful Books tag/meme/thingy.  (Beautiful Books) So let’s talk about my super awesome novel, shall we? (It is not the only novel I have in my mind, but it is the one I outlined the most and the one I chose to write first anyway). What inspired the idea for your novel, and how long have you had the idea? I haven’t had this idea for a very long ...

Top 5 Wednesday #4 ANTI-HEROES

Image
Top 5 Wednesday is a feature created by Lainey from the youtube channel  gingerreadslainey . This week’s topic is:  Favorite Anti-Heroes From TV Trope :  an antihero is a protagonist who has the opposite of most of the traditional attributes of a hero. (S)he may be bewildered, ineffectual, deluded, or merely apathetic. More often an antihero is just an amoral misfit. Misfit, not always doing things in the “proper” way and not usually having the conventional look of a hero were the characteristics I used to comprise my list. Number 5 Batman (from Dark Knight Universe) by Frank Miller Batman is a hero, right? Well, he fights crime in Gothan city, but his methods aren’t always ideal. He takes the law into his own hands, being both judge and executioner; he kills, he’s anarchic, etc. There are some controversy on whether he is really an antihero, but Frank Miller says he is, soooo Number 4 Mr. Rochester from Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte Unlike Michael Fassbender, Ro...
